Can You become Bald from Hair Loss?
Unless you chose going bald as your new style statement no one likes losing too much hair from their head. Although both men and women get affected by it, hair loss in men tends to be swifter, earlier and more extensive. While women rarely become bald due to hair loss men on the other hand stand at the risk of baldness on losing excessive amount of hair from their heads.
While there are many reasons for hair loss, inherited hair loss or the hormone related hair loss is the common cause of hair loss among men. This type of hair loss is called male pattern baldness or androgenetic alopecia.

The main culprit for this kind of hair loss is the male sex hormone testosterone. The increased sensitivity of this hormone in areas of the scalp leads to the loss of hair and this condition then is passed on from generation to generation.
The condition usually starts in men aged 20 to 30 and follows a typical pattern. First, a receding hairline develops, and gradually the hair on top of the head also begins to thin. Eventually, the two balding areas meet to form a typical U-shape around the back and sides of the head. The hair that remains is often finer, and does not grow as quickly as it used to.
This is the worst type of hair loss as it is permanent and can lead to total baldness if left untreated. In order to prevent male hair loss, there are a number of treatment options available. One of the most frequently used treatment option are the medicines like minoxidil and finasteride. Both are over the counter medications. While former is a topical lotion the later is taken orally as a tablet.
Although both result in hair growth, both fail to offer a permanent cure for the problem. Hair starts falling again once these medicines are stopped. In such a scenario, plastic surgery seems be the only reliable option for a permanent solution to lost hair.
So, if you are a man and worried about your receding hair line, one of the first things you can do on your own is to learn tips on bald hair care before trying out the above treatment options. But more important than anything is to accept hair loss for what it is – something natural. Rather than trying to cover bald spots with remaining hair or a wig, it is probably a better idea to leave your hair as it is, or shave it off completely. After all one can never die from hair loss.
